"...rich in overtones, bewitching, catching and absolutely sincere ..." -Dmitry Zaytsev, Songwriter, performer and producer, Moscow, Russia

Randi Fay- an amazing and inimitable singer and composer invites you to make an exciting journey in styles and directions of the American pop-music!

It was a great honour for me to make this voyage two weeks before the official release and I'm happy, as if the artist herself has dedicated me in her songs to the secrets of her soul, as beautiful as her voice, like herself ...

The album consists of 9 songs written in completely different styles from blues and reggae up to EDM and sympho metal ... And with all that stylistic and genre variety, all 9 compositions combine the incredible beauty of vocal melodies, the rich colourful palette of arrangements and of course the vocals of Rani: the voice which can not be confused with any other ...  rich in overtones, bewitching, catching and absolutely sincere ...

The album opens with the piece called  “Crystal Tears”, a symphonic metal ballad in the spirit of “Evanassence”, written in a minor with very beautiful strings and pianos, and contents the harmonic turn with a low second chord which makes the song sound truly gothic and somber. It creates an interesting contrast with the charming timbre of the voice and incredibly  beautiful melody of vocals (the same thing could be said about all the songs of this album)

Next comes a folk ballad at the rate of 6/8 - “Haunting My Dreams” - based on so-called titled "Old Frigian turn" (like in an old English folk-song “The Green Sleeves”) Here we can find again the powerful strings and sophisticated piano lines which create a truly hypnotic effect in  combination with a charming Randi’s vocal

He Said- an EDM piece with  the elements of electronic rock and already familiar folk-intonations.  Another important thing to mention- the creative effects on the  lead voice

“You’re Gone”- is wonderful pop-rock ballad with beautiful tonal modulations  ...

“Crunchin’  the  Kernel”- is a minor blues with  the bridge which reminds

me the heritage of the golden age of the  Broadway musical tunes. Here I’d like to point out the remarkable solos on organ and sax.

Sleep, Baby, Sleep- is a folk-lullaby It sounds very gentle and intimate. This gets from playing with the colours of moving between relative major and  (natural) minor. The song contents the elements of country ballad and  has very beautiful  guitar solo.

“Pheromone”- is an incredibly catchy piece, written in the style of pop-rock using all the the rules and tools to become a real hit

“Freely Given”- country ballad written in the major key with a very beautiful vocal melody and minimalistic arrangement,  consisting of delicate strings, guitar and exquisite pianos

“Love is” a reggae composition with the elements of rock

The song reminded me  my favorite “Summer in the City” by Joe Cocker

In conclusion, I’d like say that I will highly recommend this album to all my fellow musicians here in Moscow and everywhere, for the  quality of this material to be studied in details and to all non-musicians as one of the tops of modern American pop music (in the broadest meaning of this word)
