About Rändi
Rändi Fay is a Wisconsin-based singer and songwriter whose engaging blend of atmospheric, folksy pop-rock and jazz brings her alluring storytelling to life. Named one of the "female musicians who paved the way here in Wisconsin” by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (March, 2022) Fay strives to heal and inspire her listeners through the power of music.
Rändi’s innovative approach to music can be attributed to a combination of early influences spanning decades and genre, from jazz standards, pop & rock classics, music theater, camp songs to classical masterpieces. She seeks out diverse, worldwide collaborations to bring in unexpected flavor and character to her songwriting and vocal performance.
Rändi has received accolades for her songwriting and performance, including being named a a finalist in 2021 GREAT AMERICAN SONG CONTEST (March 2022) for her lyrics for the song “Innocent” released with Rhythmystica in 2022. She was awarded “Top Five Winner” with “Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting” by the GREAT AMERICAN SONG CONTEST for “Supernatural” (March, 2019) alongside then co-writer and producer Aaron Zinsmeister, and as a Finalist for her song “Joy Whispered” (March, 2020). Her music video (director Jocelyne Berumen) for “Supernatural” won the honor of “Best Music Video” at the Wildwood Film Festival (March, 2019). She has received repeat UK SONGWRITING CONTEST honors, including 2019 Finalist for "Joy Whispered" and 2018 Finalist for "Moonlight." She has been nominated “Jazz Artist of the Year” seven times (2015-2023) by the WISCONSIN AREA MUSIC INDUSTRY and more recently (Jan 2024) as “Female Vocalist of the Year.”
Rändi’s most recent release “Thankful” (November 2023), recorded with Grammy Nominated producer Hans Christian, has received international AirPlay. Prior to this, she worked with Nashville producer Shane Adams on a series of releases: "Morning Snow" (Nov 2022) and "Lost In You" (Feb 2023). Her seasonal songs “Winter Wind” and “Joy Whispered” have also received international attention during the holiday season.
Rändi also co-writes with Moscow Bassist Dmitry Zaystev for his Russian his studio band "Rhythmystica," recently releasing the Brit-pop tune "Innocent" (January 2023) and their first duet recording “The Birch Tree” (February 2024).
Rändi is a graduate of Boston College (BS Biology), the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Here more formal music education includes earning a Master’s Certificate in Songwriting through the Berklee College of Music’s online program and certification in teaching the BAST method of vocal instruction.
Outside of music, Rändi is passionate about her family and her pets, travel, skiing, hiking, reading and baking. Causes dear to her include Leukemia Awareness and Support, Mental Wellness, Prevention of Domestic Violence and Abuse, and Animal Welfare. Discography:
