About Rändi
Acclaimed Wisconsin vocalist, recording artist and songwriter Rändi Fay defies genre, her songs being described as “poetry set to music.” Her catalogue ranges from acoustic lullabies to jazz standards to electronically orchestrated cinematic ballades, drawing from the intimacy of artists from the past, the vibrant tonality and rhythms of jazz, and the nostalgia of storytelling through melody and lyric. Named one of the "female musicians who paved the way here in Wisconsin” by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (March, 2022), she seeks out diverse, worldwide collaborations to bring in unexpected flavor and character to her songwriting and vocal performance.
Rändi’s recent release “Thankful” (November 2023), recorded with Grammy Nominated producer Hans Christian, received international airplay from Australia to the Americas. Prior to this, she worked with Nashville producer Shane Adams on a series of releases: "Lost In You" (Feb 2023) and "Morning Snow" (Nov 2022). Her seasonal songs “Winter Wind” and “Joy Whispered” (prod. Aaron Zinsmeister) continue to reach international listeners during the holiday season.
Rändi co-writes with Moscow Bassist Dmitry Zaystev for his band “Rhythmystica." They released their first duo single “The Birch Tree” in February 2024. Their Brit-pop tune "Innocent" (January 2023) was a finalist in “Lyric Wiring” in the Great American Songwriting Contest 2022.
After disbanding her jazz combo “Limited Edition” in 2018, Rändi has been focusing on more feature vocalist opportunities, including taking on roles in Music Theater, including “Donna” (Mamma Mia), “The Witch” (Into the Woods) and “Martha Watson” (White Christmas).
Rändi is a graduate of Boston College (BS Biology), the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Here more formal music education includes earning a Master’s Certificate in Songwriting through the Berklee College of Music’s online program and certification in teaching the BAST method of vocal instruction.
