Hi! It's been a while-- I have been crazy busy, fortunately work and play! I just returned from a great week skiing in Colorado, followed by a few days of babysitting my darling little Hannah! I love tht little girl- what a lucky Näni I am! And as far as work goes, I have all sorts of things going on!
Here's a quick rundown:
Writing- I am still involved in four seperate web-based writing collaborations. It is SOOO hard to find time for us all to meet, but I am happy to say that in one of the groups, we have completed the song " Linger" and are ready to start another! We are so close in two of the others! I will share them as we have finished demos. It is a super fascinating and talented group of people, and we are all learning together. It is awesome to write in many genre, and to write for others
Song Development- Composer and dear friend Robert Casady agreed to take on the task of creating an instrumental score of the song I wrote last year: "Haunting My Dreams." He did a fantastic job! I will be recording the full vocal version within the month (I think...)! This tune has a new-agey vibe, and is an example of my exploring different genre, trying to stretch my versatlity as a writer.
Bob will be creating an instrumental backing track for my lullaby " Sleep Baby Sleep" next!Recording: I am in the thick of recording with Aaron Zinsmeister, of White Raven Audio in Appleton, also known for playing keys in the " Vic Ferrari Band". What an amazing and crazy experience! Another brilliant musician in my life- I am so grateful! I will share more in a few weeks, but here's a hint: EDM, Reggae, sultry blues, Euro-pop, New Age, Lullaby and Adele-like ballad. Yup. I think we have it covered--
Finally, I am so stoked! I have been nominated as "Jazz Artist of the Year" again by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) . My fellow nominees are extraordinary, and I am so honored to be considered among them! The ceremony is later in April, and will be another great party, I am sure!
I hope you are enjoying the "Luck of the Irish" on this lovely day! I am going to indulge in the blessings of a Guinness shortly!
Cheers!
