Man, I tell you, when I started this project, I basically decided to "DIVE IN"- no holds barred- breaking from my standard genre and just going for it on so many different songs. I once again thank wholeheartedly my beyond-brilliant producer, orchestrator and sound engineer Aaron Zinsmeister of White Raven Audio, and the incredible studio musicians who collaborated on this project: Tim Perkins (bass), Kelvin Kaspar and Jason Busse (guitar), Ken Skitch (trombone), Chris Felts (sax), Jack Naus (trumpet), Kai Pita Katobalavu (vocal duet "Love Is") and Bob Casady (arr. "Sleep, Baby, Sleep" & "Haunting My Dreams"). AMAZING PEOPLE. AMAZING TALENT. #grateful
And how about that photo of the humpback whale "diving in?" YUP, I SAW THAT!! Up close and pretty personal. My hands were too wet and cold and I was pretty much too much in awe to be reliable with my iPhone, and so I thank those with more bravery and skill than I who caught the shot: Brenda Powell & Charlie Ford. My trip was ONCE IN A LIFETIME AWESOME! Exhilarating, exhausting and super stinky -gave new meaning to my song "Pheromone!" And what a great springboard for me to dive into this release. #grateful
I credit the multi-talented Trista Taylor (tristataylor.com) for her fantastic graphic design of the cover image- I just love it! #grateful
I also credit my classmates and instructors at Berklee College of Music for feedback and guidance during the writing process of all songs but one (a SUPER COOL re-orchestration of fan-favorite "Crystal Tears"), in particular Neil Dercks and Sarah Brindell. Yes- education is transformative. Do it. Never stop learning. #grateful
I credit YOU- the fans (and welcome new sign-ups!) who are engaged and enjoy! I am including a download of a sweet love ballad from the CD for all who join my e-mail list "Freely Given," written just this spring to top off the project. Check out my site and please help yourself! #grateful
Finally, I credit my beautiful friends and family for listening and listening and cheerleading and generously supporting crazy me way beyond the call of duty. My immediate family Kyle & Meg, Kevin & Tyler, Kristy/Rick/Hannah & Colin, & John- and so many others- THANK YOU! #grateful
Ok, so I just saved you from having to watching the Grammy's to hear my acceptance speech. I would have been pulled off with the ginormous hook long ago anyway! Enter the exit music!
Much love and hugs!
